Week 7

 Monday 26th February 2024

  • Today I am working from home so that I may focus on working on my audio and video work.
  • I ended up composing a new song for a video that I am making.
  • I also received news regarding my assignment that told me about my presentation that I need to do as part of it, which is worth 30%. Everyone is doing it on different weeks, but I'm doing mine on the 7th of March at 2:00pm. The presentation lasts for 5-7 minutes and will focus on my experience of work placement. The students of the second year Creative Digital Media class will also ask me questions. I need to talk about the company and what my role in said company, as well as what skills I have learned and any challenges I faced.
  • Regarding this presentation, I was thinking on working on that when I work in Tyndall.
  • I was also informed by HR that according to my contract, my shift actually finishes at the 8th March, so I have to leave by then. With that, I have two forms to fill out.
  • I have been working on adding footage of the cafeteria in my PhD video:

Tuesday 27th February 2024
  • I have a room booked so that I can do my presentation there when the day comes.
  • I also am filling in the forms that I need to fill for when I leave.
  • I also started working on my presentation for 7th March:

  • I had a meeting with Ré today and these are the notes that I took down:
  1. The PhD students won't be able to do interviews so that idea is scrapped.
  2. The internship has been compressed from 12 weeks to 8.
  3. Trevor has something booked for me and he'll let me know in due course.
  4. I can say that I have produced a music library for Tyndall.
  5. 2.5 days leave. 4th of March day off, and also 8th March. (21st February was half day off)
  6. Meeting at 7th March 3:30pm-ish.
  7. Send in the stock footage that you used via zip file.
  8. Email to both Ré and Sinéad Dennehy, with an explanation. (BY WEDNESDAY 6TH MARCH)
  • I have informed Sinéad O'Sullivan when my days off are (21st Feburary was a half day off and I plan the 4th of March and the 8th of March to also be days off)

 Wednesday 28th February 2024

  • I am working from home today to work on my PhD video project.
  • Decided to add in more text in the video and I also plan to add more stock footage in there:

  • I found a nice billboard graphic that I can use for one of the moments in the video.
  • I was emailed by Trevor and he let me know that I can do four weeks of extra work for him so that I can get a higher grade.
  • Was just getting the video rendered:
  • I got the video fully rendered and now it is emailed to Ré.
Thursday 29th February 2024
  • I am going to focus working on the presentation today.
  • I am also filling in the rest of those leaving forms.
  • I have filled in the forms and I have them emailed to Ré so that he can place his signature on it.
  • I have been working on my presentation so that it can be ready by next week. I will mention on the skills that I have learned and improved on as well as any challenges that I had to face.

  • I got an email from Trevor saying how next week I will be emailed with a meeting arrangement. I could go ahead with what he asks if I want to but it's entirely optional as I will pass either way. I would like to listen in anyway, because it would be nice to see how I can improve my grade a little.
Friday 1st March 2024
  • Feeling like taking it slow and also working more on the presentation.
  • On Monday I have a day off.
  • I also sent over all the stock footage that I've been using during my internship. I have them all zipped up and emailed, with an explanation of what it was used for and where you can get more from.

Monday 15th January 2024 For my first time visiting Tyndall, I had to take part in a first day on-boarding session. We were shown various PowerPoint presentations regarding the company and all the rules that it has regarding using the computers or the rooms within the building. We were also given sheets that we had to fill in to create our accounts for Tyndall, including creating our own passwords. We were shown the safety protocols and what we need to do during the event of a fire or a gas leak. Week 12

  Monday 8th April 2024 I have all the pictures organized for the videos, and I should have all the videos done by the end of the week. I plan to finally get all the day 3 and Studios Day folders done and with that every single folder will have videos to them. Today's focus will be to edit the videos, I won't actually render them until later on in the week. But at least with this, I should be all set. I finished editing the entire video. And then with tomorrow (or sometime during the week if not that) I will have finished rendering every folder. Tuesday 9th April 2024 Today I have been focusing on rendering the videos that I have edited yesterday. I have rendered a total of 11 videos. All of which go through the Day 3 and Studios Day folders and subfolders. And with that, the entirety of the TEI Photos have been completed. I have sent the videos over to Trevor for review, and I have let him know that is the last of the videos that need to be done.
